17.12 LET:
LET-kval i Marokko -
kortet for neste år.
Rebecca Lee-Bentham og Moriya Jutanugarn vant kvalet på LPGA Touren. Sistnevnte

Ariya Jutanugarn romps to Lalla Aicha Tour
School win
Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn secured her Ladies European Tour card in impressive
style by winning the Lalla Aicha Tour School Final Stage by five shots from
England’s Emily Taylor and Australian Nikki Campbell.
The 17-year-old amateur shot a three under par 69 in the fifth and final round
on the Al Maaden golf course in Marrakech, Morocco, to end on a total of 336, 24
under par.
The world No.2 amateur began the day three shots clear of the field and her lead
was never threatened on a day when exactly 30 players earned their full playing
rights for The 2013 Ladies European Tour.
The final day was full of drama with emotions running high at both ends of the
leader board. There were scenes of jubilation early on as Maha Haddioui secured
her tour card with a final round 67, becoming the first Moroccan golfer to
qualify to play on the Ladies European Tour full time.
Young Mexican Margarita Ramos saved the best until last with a five under par 67
to make the top 30 on the number at seven under par. There was strong
representation from South America as Paula Hurtado of Colombia and Maria Salinas
of Peru also secured their full cards.
India’s Sharmila Nicollet was ecstatic to be back on the Ladies European Tour
and determined to make amends for her rookie season.
However, several players were disappointed to have missed out on the top 30
including England’s Charley Hull, who shot a final round 76 to end in a share of
36th on four under alongside Cheyenne Woods of the United States who had a final
round 70.
At the top of the leader board though, Jutanugarn completed a convincing win
posting six birdies, one bogey and a double in her final round, with which she
was not entirely satisfied.
“Today I didn’t play very good and I missed some putts. My irons were not very
good today, but I’m still happy because the two weeks were very good,” said
Jutanugarn, whose older sister Moriya was a co-medalist at the LPGA’s Final
Qualifying School two weeks earlier.
“I’m going to miss her a lot because we have to separate. I have to go with my
dad and Moriya will go with my mom,” she said, adding: “I am going to turn pro
and I’m really happy I won because it will make me feel confident for my
professional career.”
Jutanugarn ended her junior career this season by winning her second consecutive
AJGA Rolex Junior player of the Year. Having turned 17 in late November, she
will be amongst the youngest players on the LET, but not the youngest. Hull, 16,
plans to turn professional, while China’s Xi Yu Lin, who is also 16, qualified
in fifth position having turned professional a year ago at the age of 15.
Taylor, 18, is another player tipped for stardom and she was thrilled to earn
her full tour card. “I didn’t expect it to be honest. I did play well in the Pre
Qualifying but it’s just fantastic to finish tied second, I’m really happy. I
was good with my irons this week, the putting wasn’t great but tee to green I
hit a lot of greens and a lot of fairways so I gave myself a lot of chances. I
can’t wait for my rookie year on tour and I’m going to turn pro as soon as
possible,” she said.
At 32, Campbell is a veteran with 10 years on the LPGA of Japan, but she will be
a rookie on the Ladies European Tour in 2013.
“I’ve always wanted to come and play here. I’ve been playing in Japan the last
ten years and things were getting the same old,” she said. “Something new is
pretty exciting. I played really well, hit a few good iron shots and sunk a few
putts, so I’ve been playing pretty well the last two weeks but the putts went in
today.”
Haddioui was one of the more emotional players and her performance meant a great
deal to the partisan gallery cheering from outside the ropes.
She played the back nine in one under par on the last day before picking up four
birdies in a row from the first hole and coming in with 32 on the front nine.
Haddioui said: “I was so stressed going into the final round and I started with
a bogey and it was really tough. I had a series of really good holes so I’m
really happy. I’ve put in a lot of work and finally it’s paying off.”
She explained how her mentality changed as she made the turn: “I knew it was the
last nine holes so I was like, ‘this is now or never, or next year, basically!’
That gave me a little boost.
“It means a lot to me personally because this is what I’ve wanted for two years
now since I turned

Feng earns record win in Dubai
DUBAI, Saturday Dec 8, 2012 – World No.6 Shanshan Feng of China earned an
imperious five stroke victory after leading from start to finish at the Omega
Dubai Ladies Masters.
The 23-year-old from Guangzhou fired rounds of 66, 65, 67 and 67 to end 21 under
par, recording the lowest winning total in the tournament’s seven year history,
beating the previous best of 18-under jointly held by Sweden’s Annika Sorenstam
and South Korean In Kyung Kim.
Dewi-Claire Schreefel of the Netherlands, who shot a tournament record 63 in the
third round, ended in lone second position at 16 under par. Meanwhile Becky
Brewerton and Caroline Masson finished four shots further back in a tie for
third.
Feng took a commanding five shot lead into the final round and was still five
clear as she made the turn. She moved to 20 under par after rolling in an eagle
putt from 20 feet at the par-5 third hole. China’s first major champion earlier
this year, Feng bogeyed the fifth but birdied the eighth for an outward total of
two under. She was solid on the back nine with eight pars and a solitary birdie
on the 14th hole.
“I'm very happy because I had the lead for three days in a row and I don't want
to give it away on the last day. I think I tried my best, but still, I won, so
here I am!” said a jubilant Feng after receiving the winner’s trophy from HRH
Princess Haya, who was accompanied by Her daughter, HH Sheikha Al Jalila Bint
Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at the tournament’s prize ceremony.
This was Feng’s eighth professional victory and her second on the Ladies
European Tour, after she won the World Ladies Championship in China in March.
She was full of praise for the LET and added: “This looks like a major to me.
“I've always heard about it, that it's very nice. Finally I got a chance to play,
and I like it, I like the golf course: of course, I shot 21 under!”
Feng said that she would celebrate by going to the mall and buying herself, her
friend and her parents each a handbag. At the beginning of the week she had a
wager with her compatriot Yu Yang Zhang, who tied for 24th, that if the young
LET rookie recorded a top-10 to avoid a trip to next week’s Tour School, she
would buy her a handbag. “I don't think she made the top 10 and she has to go
back to Q School but I believe that she can make it anywhere,” said Feng, in a
display of support.
The Netherland’s Schreefel was equally excited with her second place finish and
said: “I played very well the whole tournament. It's been a consistent season
and I felt if I just played my game, I can finish well out here, so I'm very
happy.
“She was so far ahead that something had to happen to her game and I would have
to go pretty low to make something happen. So it was actually nice because I
could just concentrate on my own game and I thought I'm going to try and catch
her, that's going to keep me going.”
One of the most dramatic storylines of the day was the tight final round duel
for the ISPS Handa Order of Merit. Masson was in second position for much of the
day and looked to have the advantage over Carlota Ciganda. However, after Masson
triple bogeyed the 12th hole she never recovered and Ciganda took the title,
with a tie for 10th place in the tournament.
“I'm very lucky and very happy to have won the Order of Merit,” said Ciganda. “I
want to congratulate, also, Caroline, because she has been playing great.”

Carlota Ciganda Romps to Victory in China
SUZHOU, CHINA, Sunday 28 October 2012 – Carlota Ciganda made a memorable first
visit to China by notching her second title on the Ladies European Tour with a
wire-to-wire victory at the Suzhou Taihu Open.
The 22-year-old LET rookie from Spain, who claimed her maiden win in Holland
this June, yet again displayed her extraordinary talent by firing a bogey-free
course record eight under par 64 in warm and hazy conditions at Suzhou Taihu
International Golf Club.
She romped to a seven stroke victory with a tournament record 17 under par in
the 54-hole event, going one stroke better than world no.1 Yani Tseng the
previous year.
Ciganda seemed to be enjoying her status as the LET’s ISPS Handa order of merit
leader and said it was the best golf she had ever played over three rounds. “I
was just thinking about playing my game, having fun, and I liked the course from
the beginning. I was playing good, I was confident and I think it’s one of those
weeks that everything goes right and I was lucky. I was making putts, hitting to
the fairway, hitting lots of greens and then Javi, my caddie, did a great job.
He was very good with the shots. I think it was everything,” said Ciganda, who
began the final round two strokes clear of Germany’s Caroline Masson after
opening with rounds of 65 and 70.
Looking totally at ease, Ciganda continued her solid play on Sunday by opening
with two birdies and picked up another on the par-five fifth, where she made two
putts from the front of the green. She added a fourth birdie at the sixth hole,
making an eight-foot putt to move six clear of Masson.
Ciganda then made three further birdies on 11, 14 and 15 before signing off with
an impressive birdie on the 451-yard par five 18th hole. She her driver over the
water hazard, struck a four-iron to 40 feet short of the flag and tapped her
second putt in.
“This week I was very relaxed because I was trying to play my game, to go shot
by shot and just thinking about my own game and not thinking about the others,
because you can’t control what the others do so just try to have fun. I really
like it here and I love golf so it was just one more day of golf,” she said,
adding that she would celebrate by having dinner in the luxurious Taihu Golf
Hotel with her caddie.
Masson admitted that she was effectively playing for second place all day,
despite having shot three rounds in the 60s. She signed off with a three under
69 that included four birdies on the back-nine and said: “I played fine. I knew
it was going to be tough to beat Carlota on this course. She played two solid
rounds before and I think today, after a few holes, it was clear that it would
be very difficult.
“I made a few birdies, made a few bogeys as well and couldn’t find my rhythm on
the front nine. I played well on the back nine but she was already too far ahead
so it’s just an amazing performance I think from her this week: 17 under, it’s
really, really good and I played well. I’m happy with my performance.
“I was not sure I was going to play here until Monday because I had some trouble
with my wrist so I think second place is a really good finish for me this week
and I’m really, really happy with that.
“I was kind of relaxed from the start. I have been in this situation a few times
now and I get more relaxed every time. I didn’t read the putts well on the front
nine but maybe it helped when she was so far ahead. I was worried about
finishing second, so I think after nine, seriously, I was just trying to be
second.”
In tied third spot were France's Julie Greciet and England's Florentyna Parker
with identical totals of six under 210.
It was a lucky day for Korean Bae In-ji who shot two eagles - on the 5th and
12th holes. "On the par 5, fifth hole, I hit the driver and 3-wood to seven
yards off the pin, while on the par-4 12th hole I hit a driver and 4-wood," said
Bae, who finished tied ninth.
China's Lin Xiyu was also in fine form, finishing best of the Chinese entries.
The 16-year-old professional from Guangzhou finished with a 2-under 70 for a
54-hole total of 211 to be tied fifth with the 2010 champion Lee-Anne Pace,
Patcharajutar Kongkraphan and Samantha Richdale.
"I'll try even better in Sanya next week as that is also my favourite course and
I did well there the last two years," Lin said.

Rapport fra LET:
Catriona Matthew Queen of Killeen Castle
(Dunsany, Co. Meath, Ireland – Sunday 5th August 2012) - Scotland’s Solheim Cup
star Catriona Matthew continued her love affair with Killeen Castle as she
recorded a one stroke victory in the Ladies Irish Open supported by Fáilte
Ireland.
Matthew could afford a bogey five on the final hole to seal the win with a three
round total of 209, seven under par, after a second successive round of 71.
Her European Solheim Cup teammate Suzann Pettersen of Norway ended a stroke back
after her second straight round of 69, with another Solheim Cup star, Laura
Davies, three shots further behind in third.
The finishing holes provided drama in The 2011 Solheim Cup and it again proved
the case as Pettersen pushed Matthew all the way on a warm and sunny afternoon
mixed with showers in County Meath.
The 2011 event champion, Pettersen, began the final round three shots behind
Matthew but was tied for the lead after 15, where she found the bunker left of
the green with her second shot but made a crucial birdie putt from 20 feet.
After Matthew birdied the same hole, Pettersen made an eight foot birdie putt on
the par-three 16th to stay level with Matthew, but she then dropped a shot on 17
after hitting her second shot into the bunker short of the green and missed a
20-foot putt.
There was a two shot swing when Matthew, playing in the last group behind
Pettersen, holed a tricky five-footer to reach eight under with a hole to play.
Pettersen missed her downhill birdie putt on 18 and although Matthew dropped a
shot, finding the bunker right, behind the green, two putts were enough to seal
the win and the €52,500 first prize.
“I’m absolutely delighted,” said Matthew, claiming her fifth victory on the
Ladies European Tour and her ninth in total. “It’s always difficult going out in
the lead. I was just kind of trotting along there at seven under and saw Suzann
making some birdies. I think she thought she was in The Solheim Cup again.
“I made a good birdie on 15 and then the one on 17 just gave a little bit of a
cushion coming up the last, which was nice. I knew I had a two shot lead and I
had seen what Suzann had done on 17 and 18 so I knew she was two behind so I
reckoned I could make five from there.”
On her love affair with Killeen Castle, where she played a key role in Europe’s
Solheim Cup victory in September, the World No.27 added: “I think it was always
going to be difficult coming back here in a way with so many good memories being
here. It could have worked either way but maybe I was a little bit inspired by
some of my play from last year in The Solheim Cup.”
Pettersen was understandably disappointed with her finish after mounting a
superb challenge. After dropping a shot on the sixth hole, she birdied three
holes in a row and compensated for a bogey on 10 with a birdie on 13.
“I played good. I made a silly bogey on 17 and had to give it a go. I thought I
could hit a very hard sand wedge and it was just a misjudgement of the wind. I
made a run at it,” said Pettersen, the World No.6.
England’s Davies also made a final round charge with a 68 that contained seven
birdies and three bogeys, despite suffering from a painful Achilles injury
sustained whilst playing football three months ago. It was exacerbated when
playing in the charity football match during the Evian Masters, but there will
be no time to rest as Davies is teeing up in Toledo on the LPGA next week.
Another Englishwoman, Liz Bennett, was lying in joint third with Davies after 17
holes, but eventually signed for a 74 after slipping back into a share of ninth
with four others after taking a costly triple bogey seven at the 18th.
Bennett lost her ball in the water hazard off the tee and then sent her approach
shot through the back of the green, but despite that, there will be positives to
take away from the tournament. Her putting has improved considerably since she
installed a Huxley putting green in her back garden a week ago and will be one
to watch at the forthcoming ISPS Handa Ladies British Masters in a fortnight.
England’s Curtis Cup winner Charley Hull is another player to watch and she
ended in a share of 18th place, taking home the Philomena Garvey trophy as the
leading amateur.

Tutta med god mulighet til å vinne Ladies Irish Open
Suzann Pettersen har 71 69 og gode muligheter til å vinne.
Caroline Martens misset cutten etter 78 76. Det var tre slag for mange. Marianne Skarpnord
klaff.

Masson magic wins SA Women’s Open
Michael Vlismas
PENNINGTON, KwaZulu-Natal (15 July 2012) – Germany’s Caroline Masson was
remarkably composed on a brutal final day of the South African Women’s Open and
went on to claim her maiden victory on the Ladies European Tour.
Masson closed with a bogey-free 70 to win on one-under-par 215, one stroke clear
of South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace and England’s Danielle Montgomery.
“I’m so happy. It was such a tough day with the wind,” Masson said of a round
which was in doubt because of the gale force winds that battered the Selborne
Park Golf Club from the early morning.
At its strongest the wind raged at 81 km/h, and forced a one-hour delay of the
tee-off time.
And it was into these conditions that Masson threw her disappointments of
several near misses in the past and her hope of a maiden title at last.
She birdied the par-five third for her only birdie of the day. But far more
impressive was the fact that she didn’t drop a single shot.
“That was pretty good. I hung in there and made my pars. I got lucky a few
times, and I had a few birdie chances but didn’t make those putts. But all in
all I’m really happy with the way I played.”
Pace was determined to take advantage of the tough conditions and came close to
forcing a play before missing her birdie putt on the 18th on her way to a 70 and
a level-par finish.
Pace said: “I played really solid golf from the second round, and when the wind
came up I knew I had a chance. I just stayed patient out there and made my
pars.” Montgomery closed with a solid 72 to share second on that total.
South Africa’s Melissa Eaton-Jackson also impressed with the tournament low of
68 to climb to three over and a share of ninth.
But it was Masson who showed the greatest composure, leading from the first
round on her way to a deserved victory.
“You have to keep patient in these conditions, which is not my strength to be
honest. I had a few good chances to win before this, so I just kept focusing on
playing my own game and not worrying too much about the leader boards.”
The win is also perfect timing, with the Evian Masters next up on the LET
schedule. “I’m feeling very confident. I’ve been waiting for this for such a
long time, and the middle of the year is great timing for a victory. It’s also
nice to do it in South Africa. This is a beautiful country and we’re all really
glad to have the tournament back here.”
As South Africa’s top-ranked player in the field and a key ambassador for this
event, Pace echoed Masson’s sentiments: “I think it’s fantastic for South
African woman’s golf to have this tournament back here. It’s very exciting
times, and all the Europeans are talking about coming back. It’s really good
stuff for South Africa.”
The Jackie Mercer Trophy for the leading amateur went to South Africa’s Bertine
Strauss, who finished on 12 over par with rounds of 78, 72 and 78.

Melissa Reid records emotional victory in Prague
England’s Melissa Reid held her overnight lead to record an emotional victory at
the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters on Sunday.
Reid, playing in her first tournament back since the tragic death of her mother,
Joy, in a car accident in Germany four weeks previously, maintained her
composure right until she holed her winning putt on 18.
Needing to hole a six-footer for par to seal a one stroke victory over Italian
Diana Luna, she calmly rolled it in before letting the tears flow and being
embraced by friends and fellow competitors on the 18th green.
“To be honest I wasn’t that nervous. I think with something like what’s happened
to my family and me the last four weeks nothing really seems that difficult
anymore,” said Reid, who finished on a nine under par total of 207, after rounds
of 68, 67 and 72. “I spoke to my coach when I went back a couple of weeks after
and he said to me, ‘I don’t know when it’s going to be, but this will make you a
stronger person,’ and my best friends have said that as well and I honestly
think it will.
“It will make me fight and nothing will seem as bad as what I’ve been through,
so yeah, I actually felt very calm and I knew I was going to hole the putt on
18.”
Reid started the final round with a one shot lead over Italian Stefania Croce
and had a shaky front nine with a bogey at the third for an outward total of one
over 37.
However, she fought off the challenge of several other contenders with two
birdies at holes 12 and 17 against one bogey at the 14th on the back nine.
Tied for the lead with Croce, Australian Rachel Bailey, Frenchwoman Joanna
Klatten and Italian Diana Luna at various points during the day, most fell back
down the stretch, playing in a tricky, swirling breeze, but under sunny skies.
Bailey (66) ended in a share of third with England’s Rebecca Hudson (71), while
Klatten (67) and Australian Stacey Keating (72) tied for fifth. Croce had a 77
and slipped back into a share of 16th.
Luna moved a stroke ahead at nine under after Reid missed a short putt on 14,
but then the Italian three-putted from long range on 16 to draw level again.
Tied for the lead with Luna after 16 holes, Reid birdied 17 just as Luna had
posted the clubhouse lead at eight under and the supporting gallery sent out a
jubilant roar across the Albatross Golf Resort.
“I would say it’s the toughest hole on the golf course and I hadn’t really been
committing that much all the way round. I probably got a little bit tense and
was wanting to win a little bit too much,” Reid said. “Literally Johnny, my
caddie, just said, ‘let this one go’ and I absolutely nailed it down the middle,
stiffed a 52 and then the same on 18. I hit a pretty good drive, got a bit
unlucky and then hit a great second shot on 18 too actually: it just went on a
little bit too much. I’m very happy to win.
“I just putted really bad. I got a little bit unlucky and got a few bad kicks on
my drives but all in all, I didn’t hit it that bad really, I hit it about
average, but I just didn’t hole anything until pretty much 17 and 18 which were
the only two putts I holed really, so it was just nice to do it in that way and
I’m just over the moon I’ve won.”
This was Reid’s first competitive event since the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open
six weeks previously. She was due to play at the UniCredit Ladies German Open
presented by Audi before her parents, who were visiting the event to watch her
compete, were injured in a car accident on the Tuesday evening and her mother
passed away the following day.
On collecting her fourth LET victory, Reid added: “Obviously it’s very special
with what the family and stuff has been through the last four weeks, so you
know, hopefully, obviously it is good news to the family and will bring a smile
on our faces at such a horrible time, so it means a lot.”
This was the first time that Reid had won a tournament having led going into the
final round.
She will now return home to the UK before competing at the US Women’s Open in a
fortnight’s time.

Carly Booth wins second LET title in three-way play-off
Scotland’s Carly Booth won a three-way play-off against German duo Anja Monke
and Caroline Masson with an eagle on the fourth extra hole at the Deutsche Bank
Ladies Swiss Open.
Booth, who will turn 20 next week, said that she couldn’t have asked for a
better early birthday present as she collected her second title in six weeks,
following on from her maiden win in Scotland in early May.
Booth posted a final round 68 in regulation to reach 12 under par 276 in total
on a sizzling hot day at Golf Gerre Losone in Ticino and birdied the par-five
18th hole three times in the play-off before sinking her 10 foot eagle putt to
win and claim the €78,750 first prize.
“I’m overwhelmed; speechless. I’m lost for words; so happy,” Booth said.
“It was tough. We birdied three out of three and I was thinking, someone’s going
to have to eagle to win this. I hit a perfect drive every time and then 5-iron
onto the green to about 10 foot and just holed it so it was perfect.
“I was just trying to hit a positive putt. I wasn’t trying to think about it and
I think with having the experience of winning previously in the Scottish I had
grasped the feeling of trying to stay calm and positive.”
Booth jumped high into the air and punched her fist towards the sky before
hugging her boyfriend, European Tour player Tano Goya, who was caddying, for,
‘the first and last week.’ Goya said that he would retire from his caddying
career with a win.
“He was tremendous help. It was amazing to have him and it’s a shame that he
can’t be on my bag more often because he’s playing as well on the men’s tour,”
Booth said, adding that her confidence had been boosted massively by her recent
home win.
She had struggled in her first two years on tour since turning professional at
17 and returned to qualifying school at the beginning of 2012, but has made huge
strides this year since winning on the LET Access Series and then on the main
tour in Scotland.
“I’ve been playing very well in practice and I think it was just getting the
confidence to take it into the tournament rounds and having that win has really
made me feel like I can win, so it was a great thing to do, especially at the
start of the year. I said to myself after the Scottish, I’m going to try to get
two wins before my 20th and I just did it,” she said with a grin.
With her win, Booth now moves to the top of the ISPS Handa Order of Merit with
earnings of just over €124,000 from seven events this season and is €20,000
clear of second placed Christel Boeljon.

Rapport fra LET:
Anne-Lise Caudal wins play-off in Germany
Anne-Lise Caudal defeated Laura Davies with a birdie at the second extra hole of
a sudden-death play-off to capture the UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by
Audi on the outskirts of Munich on Sunday.
On a glorious final day of sunshine, which brought record number of spectators
to Golfpark Gut Häusern, both players started the day two strokes behind a trio
of leaders and carded matching final rounds of five under par 67 to finish on 13
under par 275 after four rounds of regulation play.
After heading back to the tee at the 519 yard / 475 metre par-five 18th both
players made pars on the at their first extra hole.
At the second time of asking, Davies’ birdie putt from four metres fell just
short and low of the hole, clearing the way for Caudal to roll in her birdie
putt from around three metres and secure the double first prize of €52,500 and
an Audi A5 cabriolet car.
“I can’t believe it yet. It was an amazing week this week after a tough first
round, plus two: a lot of emotion right now,” said Caudal, who claimed her
second Ladies European Tour title following the 2008 Portugal Ladies Open.
This was her second play-off experience after she was defeated by Rebecca Hudson
at the Tenerife Ladies Open, the week after her victory in 2008 and she
explained how she kept her composure by focusing on her breathing.
“I was pretty confident with my wedge. I had a wedge in my hand to hit to the
pin and I just breathed a lot and tried to calm down because my heart was pretty
fast. I just breathed and believed in what I’m doing,” she said.
Caudal recorded a three under par outward nine with birdies at holes one, two,
six and eight. Her only blemish was a bogey on the seventh. She fired additional
birdies at the 10th and 11th and had a long birdie chance on 18 to win in
regulation play.
Davies carded six birdies and dropped two shots, one at a crucial moment. Having
carded back-to back birdies at 14 and 15, where she hit her tee shot to three
feet and almost won an Audi R8 sports car, she three-putted the 16th to drop one
behind the leader. She then sank an eight-footer for birdie on 18 to keep her
title hopes alive.
“I played really well and I spoke to my mum this morning and said if I shoot 66
I think I’ll win and I was one short of that and Anne-Lise beat me in the
play-off, so at least we knew what we had to do and nearly did it,” Davies said.
“I played great. The only downside was that three-putt on 16: I think if I just
two-putted 16 I might have won but who knows. If Anne-Lise had to birdie the
last to make the play-off she would have done.
“It’s a cruel playoff to lose really, because not only do you lose the money,
you lose the sub prize of a car which is very unusual on the European Tour so
for whoever wins this tournament, it’s a really special win. It’s like a double
hit, but Anne-Lise deserves it.”
England’s Rebecca Hudson finished in third place at 11 under after a final round
of 71, with Bree Arthur, Trish Johnson and Felicity Johnson, who shot the week’s
low-round of 64, two strokes further back at nine under. After a brilliant
performance Felicity Johnson had a chance to tie the tournament record of 63 but
unfortunately dropped a shot with a three-putt bogey on the 18th green.

hole but missed it. Booth secured her par and with it, her maiden Ladies
European Tour victory.
“I’m still 19 and I’ve just won my first Ladies European Tour event so I’m just
happy,” said Booth.

Rapport fra LET:
Big move for Skarpnord on day of dramatic weather
Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord vaulted up to pole position on the leader board at
the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco on Friday with a second round of six under par
65.
The 26-year-old from Sarpsborg, who won twice on the Ladies European Tour in
2009, moved to seven under par at Golf de l’Ocean in Agadir after strong winds
and the threat of lightning delayed the start of play by five hours.
Skarpnord wasted little time after starting from the first tee at 1.50pm. She
picked up five birdies and dropped just one shot on the front nine, before
adding three more birdies and just one blemish on the back.
A solid birdie on the par-three 16th gave her a one stroke advantage over first
round co-leader Jade Schaeffer, who was happy to be in the clubhouse with a two
under par round of 69 just before play ended for the day due to darkness at
6.44pm.
Skarpnord took four months out from the game last year with a back injury and
has since struggled to find the form that saw her finish fourth on the 2009 LET
money list.
Despite striking the ball well, the putts haven’t been dropping - until now.
Conveniently, her boyfriend, European Tour player Richard Green, who is
competing in the Hassan Trophy a mile along the road at Golf du Palais this week,
was on hand to offer a putting lesson after the first round.
“Greenie was here last night and helped me a bit. I was a bit frustrated,”
Skarpnord said. “He helped me a bit and he’s got a theory on what he feels works
and I’m trying that out and hopefully it will work at the end of the day.”
Another contributing factor could be that her caddie, Brian Shezi, is reading
the lines on the greens and Skarpnord added: “To be honest I’ve been hitting the
ball awesome for a few months now, I just haven’t made any putts. I’ve really
been struggling with the putting so the game from tee to green has been there
for a long time, it’s just I haven’t made anything and it’s really destroyed
everything. When you putt bad for so long it just affects your game.”
French 25-year-old Schaeffer, who claimed her second LET title at the Prague
Golf Masters in September, felt that she was in the ideal position on the leader
board.
“Now maybe I prefer my situation because I’m just one shot behind Marianne
Skarpnord and I attack now: I hope!” she said. “I have a good feeling with this
course and with my game and I try always to win, but we’ll see.”
Conditions changed completely from morning to afternoon as the winds died down
and temperatures dropped but it was still an exhausting day for the early
starters who had been at the course since 7am.
Spanish rookie Carlota Ciganda and Sweden’s Linda Wessberg were both in the
clubhouse having ended on four under, while Frenchwoman Valentine Derrey and
Ireland’s Rebecca Codd both finished on three under par.
Wessberg made a number of impressive recovery shots from impossible positions
during her round – notably a five-iron approach shot from behind a bush to one
feet on the 392-yard par-four 14th. “It was very much up and down today but I’m
very happy,” she said. “I had a double on the sixth and made five birdies coming
in.”
Codd was also happy to be in with the chance of a later start on Saturday after
enduring a day of weather extremes.
“It was relatively calm in comparison to this morning,” she explained. “The most
wind we had was probably one club and a half. It kept dropping to nothing and
then it would gust up again.
“I got cold with four holes to play. If I had a jacket I would have put it on.
When we started it was so hot. It’s been a really long day so I need some food
now I think!”
She admitted to struggling a little with her short game but was happy with a
round of level par 71.
“I feel good, I like the course and I’m hitting the ball pretty good so sharpen
up a bit on the short game and we’ll see what happens,” she said.
England’s Eleanor Givens was enjoying a stellar start to her professional career
in a share of second place on six under par along with French first-round
co-leader Julie Maisongrosse with three holes of her second round to play.
Givens, who graduated from Tour School in January, had five birdies and no
dropped shots on Friday, setting up an intriguing prospect for the weekend.
The second round will resume at 7.30am on Saturday following which there will be
a halfway cut to the leading 60 professionals and those tied for 60th place.

Rapport fra LET:
Boeljon wins Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters
Christel Boeljon of the Netherlands came from three strokes behind overnight
leader So Yeon Ryu to claim a one stroke victory at the Gold Coast RACV
Australian Ladies Masters.
A final-hole birdie from around five feet meant the European Solheim Cup player
earned her second Ladies European Tour victory with rounds of 66, 65, 68, and 68
for a 21-under-par 72-hole total at the par 72, 5954 Metre RACV Royal Pines
course on the Gold Coast in Queensland.
Meanwhile a level par round of 72 saw Ryu, the US Women’s Open champion, slip
into a share of second with Diana Luna and Ha-Neul Kim, who both shot 67.
Two days ago the talk at Royal Pines was who was going to catch Ryu, after the
reigning US Open champion fired off an eleven under 61 giving her a commanding
four shot lead heading into the weekend.
But the 21-year-old, who admitted to being tired after her 61, struggled over
the final 36-hole stretch posting just seven birdies and four bogeys in the last
two days.
Boeljon, 24, remained composed throughout. Playing with new clubs, Boeljon shot
four under on both Saturday and Sunday, not once appearing intimidated by Ryu’s
credentials or the situation.
Sharing the lead with Ryu down the final stretch, the Dutchwoman was able to
make two brilliant up and downs on holes 15 and 16 to importantly stay in the
lead with the South Korean.
Again as she headed up 18 there were four players all on 20 under, and Boeljon
knew a birdie on the par-five final hole would do it. After reaching the green
in two and with Ryu in the greenside trap, Boeljon left her eagle putt 1.5
metres short.
“My first putt, I was not really happy: it was a bit far away for my liking,”
she told ABC TV.
Ryu flew her bunker shot way over the pin leaving her a very long birdie putt.
“I was better make a two putt and birdie and then it might be mine,” Boeljon
said. “It’s not over ‘till it’s over. I am really happy I finished with a birdie
and it’s unbelievable.”
Gwladys Nocera raced up the leader board firing off a superb eight under 64 to
finish her tournament on 18 under. An eagle on the par -five third and a string
of four birdies on the last five holes gave the Frenchwoman outright fifth place.
England’s Felicity Johnson and South Korea’s Bo-Mee Lee shared sixth on 15
under, while Lindsey Wright and Nikki Campbell were the only two Australians to
finish in the top ten, tying with American Danielle Kang in eighth place on 13
under.
After a great third round of nine under 63, Sydney’s Frances Bondad dropped out
of the top ten following a disappointing final round of two over 74. She
finished the tournament in a tie for 15th on 11 under with several players
including American teenager, 16 year-old Lexi Thompson.
New Zealand amateur Lydia Ko, 14, who stated all week her aim was just to make
the cut, tied for 32nd and took out leading amateur honours with a four round
total of six under.
Next week the players will head south to play in the ISPS Handa Women’s
Australian Open at Royal Melbourne.

Her er rapport fra Australia:
Reigning US Open Champion, So Yeon Ryu set two records at the Gold Coast RACV
Ladies Masters today but unfortunately neither feat will be given official
status.
Due to the soaking the course has received over the past week, players have been
able to take preferred lies, and altered playing conditions means the records
won’t stand.
Ryu’s first record was equalling Karrie Webb’s round of 11-under 61 and her
second was posting the lowest 36 hole score of 17-under par 127 on the Ladies
European Tour (LET). The Gold Coast RACV Masters is co-sanctioned with the LET.
Not that Ryu was too upset at missing out on the record books. She will most
likely be busy tonight remarking her golf balls. At present she marks it with
“62” to represent her career low round, but now she will be changing it to “61.”
”I really wanted to change the number, finally I can change the number,” she
said.
“The last shot I was really, really nervous, but I made it, so I’m really,
really happy, and now I’m really looking forward to the last two rounds.”
Lack of official recognition aside, it was a remarkable score by the 21-year-old
who could have shot one shot less had she not bogeyed her second hole of the day.
Still it was enough to give her a sizeable four shot lead over Dutchwoman
Christel Boeljon who is on 13- under 131, heading into the weekend.
Boeljon finds herself in outright second courtesy of a blistering birdie,
birdie, eagle finish. The 24-year-old sunk a 15-metre eagle putt on the 430m par
5 18th to end her round in style. “It’s a great feeling, great way to end my
round, so you know, what do you do? You take it every day,” she said.
