Kr 50.000 i premier på
Ullensaker
Drive for show and put
for dough eller som det
mye dårligere blir på norsk
etter Golfsidens eget
oversettelsesprogram:
Drive lenger, men det blir
ikke penger.
(Denne var såpass dårlig at
det var så vidt den gikk
gjennom redaksjonens
humor-kontroll).
Det kan bli et bra show på
Ullensaker GK lørdag 5. juli
kl. 12.00.
Gjennomsnittlig veier en
long driving utøver 96 kilo
og er 190 cm høy. I
gjennomsnitt slår disse
gutta 305 meter, mens
vanlige amar4ører ligger på
205 meter. En pro ligger på
rundt 250 meter.
Golfsiden tror at Johan
Tumba, sønn av Sveriges
beste idrettsmann gjennom
tidene - i følge en ganske
nylig avstemning, kommer til
å gjøre det skarpt. Vi har
også sterk tro på Thomas
Nielsen, selv om han drar
gjennomsnittet kraftig ned
både i personlig høye og
vekt.
Med 50.000 kroner i potten
og 18.000 kroner til
vinneren blir det både alvor
og show på Ullensaker GKs
anlegg.
Fra CDDU's hjemmeside har vi
sakset følgende:
Long Drive News
The CDDU European Long Drive
Tour kicks off on July 5 at
Ullensaker Golf Club in Oslo
at 12:00. 20 of the top long
drivers in Europe will be
competing for a purse of NOK
50.000,-.
The Favorites
Johan Tumba is the
favorite coming into the
first Tour event of the year.
After representing
Scandinavia at the 2002
World Championships Johan
went on to finish 3rd at the
South African Long Drive
Championship in November
2002.
Patrik Andersson, who
also competes on the LDA
Tour in the USA is ranked
number 2. Patrik is the
defending Holland Champion.
Daniel Lindbeck is
definately a threat this
year as he added 12 kg of
muscle up from 91 to 103 kg.
Look for Daniel to finish
high.
The Celtic Tiger from
Ireland, William
Hunt-Tyrrell who stands 196
cm and weighs in at 102 kg
isn't coming all the way
from Ireland to go home
empty handed. William has
the experience and power to
do very well this year on
the Tour.
Ken Starck from
Stockholm, entering his
second year of long drive
has the power and proved it
by hitting the longest drive
at Brollsta (314m) of all
events held there including
the championship. That is a
big drive at Brollsta
considering the grid.
Tommy Eriksson has
gotten rid of his back
problems and looks to
recapture his form from
2001.
Mikeal Lindblom from
Stockholm enters his second
year of long drive, the 23
year old with a powerful
swing and the size to beat
everyone. Watch out for
Mikke!
Thomas Nielsen, a "light-weight"
pro with deceptive power and
perfect technique that can
really carry the ball deep
to the back of the grid.
Lars Tovik, a
national team player for the
Norwegian team, has power
and 2 years experience to
reach the top. If he keeps
it in the grid on one of his
bombs, watch out!
John Giæver, entering
his first year of long drive
and has only played golf for
one year, has already proven
that his background as a
bandy player definately
gives him a powerful swing.
He hit the ball over 330
meters a month after picking
up a golf club.
